Neighborhood Watch Meeting Minutes
August 29, 2011
Meeting
started by John R Swierz.
Prayer offered
by Mr. Swanson, who also spoke about the new Police Chief. Captain Foley will
be the next Chief of Police and there will be a personnel shuffle in the city.
There were
questions and complaints about kids walking the streets during school hours,
pit bulls in the neighborhood, activity at various drug houses, and cars in the
neighborhood that “bump” late at night. He gave us numbers to call to report
the issues and they are listed below and he addressed them all with the
following:
He informed us
about the day curfew in the city. The curfew hours are from 9:00 a.m. until
2:00p.m. while Youngstown schools are open.
He informed us
that pit bulls are illegal in the City of Youngstown although a resident is
appealing a case pending about his pit bull.

report possible drug activity is - 330-742-8951.
We were
informed about City Watch and that it alerts us to important information that
pertains to our area. John Swierz asked Cheryl McWreath to go to the
meeting/training to learn how to manage it for our neighborhood. He also asked
Sherri Thomas to learn it as a backup person.
Phil Kidd
spoke about the new mayor and that he has agreed to:

Put public
auction up on website
He also spoke
about the Land Bank.
Ric Thomas
nominated as Vice President by Ms. Easterday and was seconded by Marg. Mullen.
Sherri Thomas
nominated as Secretary and seconded. When asked if it was ok to record meeting
everyone was in agreement.
